MAD NOT GOOD

Oh this is so funny! How many times do we act like this? OK, it was a rhetorical question – sort of. When we get angry we want someone to KNOW we are angry! What good does it do to have a temper tantrum if nobody is around to see it?

People who fly into a rage always make a bad landing. – Will Rogers

Anger raises blood pressure, blood sugar and anything else inside that raises and is not good. It causes all sorts of raw emotion that doesn’t need to flare up. There’s a verse in the Bible that says that we can be angry but we should not sin. Have you ever been angry and not sinned? Please – just thinking a rotten thought about the person you’re mad at – isn’t that a sin?

Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. – Psalm 37:8

How many of you have less of a problem with others – but get angry and frustrated with yourself? I think I should be smarter, prettier, taller (yeah, there’s a lot I can do about that one), skinnier (ditto), and the list goes on. Trust me, the list goes ON.

For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. – James 1:20

I can think of a couple of times I’ve been hopping mad! Those are the times I just have to go off alone and pray. Usually after that I need to walk away from the situation completely. Sometimes you just have to do what is necessary to save your own sanity. God knows me intimately and He understands me better than anyone. If I can walk away and carry no baggage with me, I can be free and eventually heal and move on.

So – mad is not good – and being mad at yourself is really not good ‘cuz guess what? You have to live with yourself. Jus’ sayin… 😉
