1 JOHN 2:18 ON 2/18

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.  – 1 John 2:18

If you’re on facebook, you’ve probably seen the different posts about the personality traits of people who have blue eyes, or green eyes, or brown eyes, or gray eyes.  Well, regardless of your “eye personality”, the Bible tells us we are to “watch and wait”…  in other words, stay alert to what’s going on around us.  We’re to know false teaching when we hear it, and we’re to have discernment from God’s Holy Spirit to spot false teachers when we see them.

It sounds like a tall order, but remember, we’re not in this alone.  If we ask our Father in Heaven, in Jesus’ name, to give us wisdom to discern – He surely will answer that prayer for us.  God’s not in the business of playing “gotcha” with his children.

I would remind you today that evil does not appear suddenly with great strength.  It’s subtle and eases its way in – because it wants to fit snuggly in with all the good around it.  Not to frighten or cause paranoid responses, but this is the reason we are to be alert to our surroundings.

Counterfeit money looks so real, doesn’t it?  It looks like the genuine article – but if you knew it was not real, would you try to pass it?  If you knew the teachings you listened to were false, would you still listen to them – or do you want to continue having your ears tickled?

The true teaching of God from His Holy Bible is never going to make us feel comfortable with the way we are.  We will always be challenged to grow and change – we will be interested in a mature relationship with the Lord and with others.  We will always want to be improving and getting better – the more close we get to God.

I have a pastor friend who will not preach from any version of the Bible but the King James.  Now, I have different versions – an NIV, the MSG, and even a GOOD NEWS FOR MODERN MAN.  Once in a while he mentions that he won’t read or preach from anything but King James.  I get it – I really do.  I think we look at different versions to try to glean some deeper meaning sometimes – but he sticks with the “original” – (and yes, I know it’s not really the original, but I don’t know any other way to describe it).  We don’t want to fall for less than the God’s honest truth – even if it’s by accident.  Remember…  our enemy is sneaky.

We don’t know the hour when Jesus will return to earth to snatch up His children.  Let’s not be found sleeping in a stupor instead of learning and growing and maturing under true teaching.  🙂

Oh admit it…  you’ve done it – I know you have!  Okay – if I admit that I just did it, would you admit you’ve done it then???  Fine…  I’ll admit it.  It’s the middle of the month and I forgot to change both of my perpetual calendars to October!  They are still on September – both of them!

While I’m sure the perpetual calendar police won’t be visiting my house anytime soon, it still makes me crazy to think that I’ve lived through an entire half month without the calendars being correct.  You’d think someone would remind me.  Oh – scratch that…  we’re talking about a person who does not notice when I’m only wearing one earring.

I used to think it would be so cool to have a perpetual calendar – and they are sort of nice.  I must have liked it because I bought another one – a totally different kind – for the basement.  So, now I have two of them, one upstairs and one downstairs.  You’d think I would have remembered to change one of them – at least.

The time just flies by, doesn’t it?  Maybe I’m just having a difficult time keeping up with it.  I know it sounds like I’m beating myself up over it, but I’m not.  Part of me wonders if it’d be worth changing them now – I mean, I only have another half month to go – so maybe I should just catch it up again in November and be done with it.

Where did this year go?  I just keep wondering what happened to the time…  seems like yesterday we were welcoming 2015.  Welcoming and wondering if things were going to get better or worse, but knowing that no matter what, our God would be faithful to us – and so He has!

You know, I don’t believe we have much longer to share our faith with those who don’t know Christ as personal Lord and Savior.  My granny used to say, “I feel it in me bones” – and I guess that’s how I would describe it.  We’ve been given the signs to look for in the Bible – and I suppose I just see that prophecies are coming to pass almost daily – and very quickly!  When I heard that Russia was becoming such a key player in world events, my mind went to the portion of Scripture that talks about the BEAR coming down from the North.  I have heard that preached my whole life – that BEAR is Russia!  I believe the second coming of Christ is very near.  Look at it this way – we’re one day closer than we were yesterday.

If you disagree with me that is certainly your privilege.  It’s more of a feeling deep down in my spirit than anything, I guess.  I just believe time is a-flyin’ and time is short for those of us with a purpose for ministry.  Now…  I suppose I’d better get those calendars changed – to NOVEMBER…  then I’ll be ahead of time for a change.  LOL!!!  Wink!  😉

MATTHEW 10:7 ON 10/7

 TL MATTHEW 10 7 ON 10 7

As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’  – Matthew 10:7

It’s our message every day.  It’s what we say!  Have you ever thought about it… ???  Every day we are closer to the time when Jesus will come back to earth and snatch His own from here and take us home!  If you consciously remind yourself of that truth every morning, you will be more likely to proclaim it to others.

There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.  –  Acts 4:12

I was reminded recently that not everyone is ready for the second coming of Christ.  Every soul is not going to be in the ark of safety when God tells His Son, Jesus to come to earth and gather His own.  For them it will not be a happy time.  We need to pray that everyone – loved ones, acquaintances, strangers and yes, even enemies – are given another opportunity to accept the matchless gift that only Christ can give.  He suffered and died on Calvary – it’s the only sacrifice necessary – and acceptable to the Father.  If you will believe – you will receive eternal life in heaven.  You may think you’re too far gone – but no, you are not.

If you truly love your fellow-man, you must warn him of the danger of losing eternal life. Tell everyone you can reach the glorious story of Jesus, that they may be saved in time. The world is full of people who need salvation. It is our job to find them and deliver the message.  – Corrie Ten Boom

You don’t have to fix yourself before you bow before Jesus.  Come just as you are – and let Him fix you.  Some other well-meaning Christian folk may try to help – but just keep leaning on Christ and listen to His voice.  He will lead you in the way you should go.  When He fixes you, it’s forever and it’s done right the first time.

People in our busy world often argue that we have said that Christ is returning for His own for many years now and it hasn’t happened yet.  He wants everyone to accept Him and He is waiting so that no one would be denied the opportunity.  But the Bible tells us that He will come again in the twinkling of an eye – it will be super fast and you won’t have time to ask Him into your heart and life when it happens.  I used to think a twinkling was the same thing as a blink – but no – a twinkling is much, much faster!  I hope you will accept Christ into your heart and life today.  🙂

As tempting as it would be to go to the Bahamas and help them celebrate their independence, there is another trip that sounds even better to me.  It’s a trip that will be the ultimate independence for me and millions of Christians all over the world.

It’s known in Christian circles as the rapture. Interesting word, since it is not referenced in the Bible. Nonetheless, it will happen – so whatever you want to call it – Jesus Christ will come back to earth for His own! We hold on to this hope. We watch the signs come to pass and we know every day we are closer than we were. I’m not an expert on prophecy, but I know enough to know that everything is coming together and we will be snatched from this earth soon.

The first time Jesus came to earth, it was as a tiny baby. When He comes again it will be as King of kings and Lord of Lords! So many people have told me they think they will have enough time to pray a quick prayer and be included in the rapture – but that’s not true. The Scripture tells us that we will be taken in the twinkling of an eye – that’s less time than a blink! It’s definitely a “be there or be square” kind of situation!

I write this blog for two reasons. First, I want to serve as an encouragement to my brothers and sisters in Christ. Second, I want those who do not know Christ as their personal Savior to consider becoming a Christian so that they can be a part of this wonderful rapture of the church!

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

I pray you will seriously consider Christ today.

I was recently reminded that there will come a day when I will never have to say goodbye to my loved ones again. Of course I know this in my mind, but on occasion my heart needs to be reminded.

I will either meet my family at the rapture:

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

Or I will meet them when I die:

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. – Revelation 21:4

No, I do not know what that “new order” of things will be, but I will be with the Lord and with my family, so it will be good. There will be no more misunderstandings or heartache. I’ll never have to diet again. The priorities involved in maintaining this physical body will no longer exist. It’s beyond my imagination, but I look forward to that reunion day. ❤
