Today I wonder what your favorite Bible verse is. Is it a verse that has helped you through hard times? Is it a verse that has given you strength of character at times? Is it a verse that has humbled your heart before God?
It seems like when the word witness is said, we automatically freeze up. We forget how to carry on a conversation because we’re so worried about how to witness. The thing is, witnessing is just a matter of living the life Christ wants you to live – in front of the world. People see your beliefs and how what you believe helps you through the rough spots in life. It’s our hope that they will want to know more about this God you serve. That’s the true witness to the world. Words don’t really mean anything if actions don’t jive with them.
On this eleventh day ‘fore Christmas, I want you to share your favorite Bible verse with someone. You don’t have to say it – it can be written in a Christmas card or shared on facebook. You can send it in the form of an email. You never know what your verse could do to help someone’s situation.
What is my favorite Bible verse? Well, I thought you’d never ask!
Jeremiah 33:3 is a verse that has given me a great deal of comfort through the years. I’ve learned that I can call on God in Jesus’ Name anytime, anywhere for any reason. There’s never anything too small or insignificant to talk over with Him. There’s never a problem or issue that He is not interested in or unable to work out for me. He loves me and wants to be involved in all the problem-solving in my life. The second part of the verse is the best part – if I will call on Him – He will answer – but He won’t just answer – no – He will also show me great and mighty things that I don’t know anything about – and that, my friends – is WISDOM. I can’t explain it – but the way He answers and works things out – is so much better than anything I would have thought of on my own! I’ve always been glad that I took the time to pray! Wink! 😉
