MATTHEW 3:1 ON 3/1

Matthew 3 1 on 3 1

Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”   – Matthew 3:1-2

The message that John the Baptist preached so long ago is the same message we preach today.  Yes, in his day Jesus was walking the earth and John did indeed baptize Christ!  He who was without sin felt the need to be cleansed before His Father?  That blows my mind.  Who are we to think we don’t need to repent and be baptized?  We are all fallen sinners by our very nature.

We are in the last days.  I have felt this in my spirit for a while as I watch world events unfold.  If there is someone you want to help into the kingdom of God, now is the time to do it.  Use the gifts and talents that God endowed you with to love them and teach them about the narrow way.  There is one way to heaven and that’s through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

It is not through ANYTHING we do.  Nope.  It is the sacrifice HE made that paves the narrow path that leads to heaven and eternal life with God.  When you become a Christian, God sees His Son, Jesus when He looks at you.  I know that’s hard to grasp, but see, God cannot look upon sin.  He just can’t – it’s not possible.  He sent Christ to this earth to be the sacrificial Lamb of God.  He’s the only one who could cleanse us from sin.  That’s why we need to believe on Him for our eternal security.

We hear our Buddhist friends talk about how to be “centered”.  Well, I choose to have the living Christ be centered in my heart and spirit than have the dead Buddha in my life at all.  Lucinda reminds us that Jesus was in the middle of everything from the beginning – and HE will remain in the middle throughout eternity!  Make Him the Lord of your life and keep Him in the middle of your heart and life.

IN THE MIDDLE

David reminds us today that when the LORD returns for us, it will happen very quickly!  Scripture tells us that it will be in the twinkling of an eye – and there will be no time to repent at that moment.  Be ready for His return.

IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE

Today I want Christians to be reminded that we play a role very similar to that of John the Baptist.  We are here to proclaim the gospel of Christ.  He is coming back to snatch His own from this sinful place very soon.  I’ll see you in the rapture.  Hallelujah!  😀

MATTHEW 7:15 ON 7/15

MATTHEW 7 15 ON 7 15

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.  – Matthew 7:15

As Christians we will be exposed to imposters and need to be aware of the possibility.  How will we know when we are around a wolf in sheep’s clothing?  I believe if we will pray and ask the Lord to help us use discernment, He will.  We should always be on guard and wise because Satan will imitate the things of God to trick us.  He is a master manipulator and will lay snares to entrap those who are ignorant and heedless.  Beware of hypocritical evil-doers.

Let God’s promises shine on your problems.  – Corrie Ten Boom

If we want to persevere, we have to be vigilant in prayer.  In the last days, we know there will be those who are “ear ticklers” and folks will flock to hear them because they will not be given the entire truth of God.  They will, in fact, be deceived, believing that they are walking the narrow way when they are not.

“What do you think of God,” the teacher asked. After a pause, the young pupil replied, “He’s not a think, he’s a feel.”  – Paul Frost

It is God’s will that the church be involved in educating people with the whole truth of the Bible so we will be ready for attacks.  Christians are not to be passive and uninvolved in life outside the walls of the church building.  As we see today, controversial issues have left Christians locking horns with government laws that do not agree with their personal beliefs.

It’s my opinion that we will see these kinds of issues more as time passes.

We need to remember that Satan is so sly and will make the wrong look right.  Just because it is more accepted in society does not make it acceptable to Christ.  If we are to follow Him, we must be fortified by His Holy Spirit and ready to resist the temptation to go along with the rest of the tide of public opinion about issues that are clearly called sin by God.

Learn God’s Word – in its entirety.  Pray that God will help you discern the sheep from the wolves.  🙂
