God will never change and He will never fail!  His loving-kindness is the same always!  Do you trust Him today?

When you see or hear the letters OJ, what comes to mind?  I can honestly say that ORANGE JUICE used to pop into my mind.  To some sports fans, or true crime drama fans, the name O.J. Simpson may pop to mind; however, may I introduce you to another option?  How about…

Isn’t that a great poem?  Only Jesus will do when I rise, or when I’m resting, or when I’m working!  Only Jesus will do when I’m speaking, or when I’m writing, or when I need true wisdom!  We tend to distance ourselves from everyone when we’re sick or when we’re hurting, but even if we pull away from friends and family, those are times when we need to draw closer to our Lord.

We need Jesus to keep us strong and encouraged when we are crying, or singing, or praying.  The Lord gives us words to say when we pray.  He understands those prayers that are not intelligible by anyone else.  Those prayers that are just groans, because the physical pain or mental hurt we feel is so horrible.

I love this poem!  What a blessing to have this lovely lady in my life!  Her work blesses me every day!

You know, so many people ask me if I think it matters to the Lord whether we have devotional time early in the morning or late at night.  I tell them I don’t think it’s a command that we have devotionals in the morning; however, it really is a great way to begin your day.  Personally, I think it’s best in the morning because I see my life as a living sacrifice and I want to offer first fruits.  I want God to come first and this is part of putting Him first in my life.  🙂

ROMANS 8:8 ON 8/8

TL ROMANS 8 8 ON 8 8

Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.  – Romans 8:8

This portion of Scripture is fairly straight forward.  In order to honor God, we have to embrace His Word and His Way of living.  God’s Holy Word – every bit of it.

I was reading about how important it is to have proper lighting surround you when you are chatting on Skype.  It’s not a simple fix, but you can look lovely if you put forth some effort, they say.  The article went on to explain that if you position your light directly behind your gadget’s camera and place a sheet of white paper on the table, directly below your chin (which will bounce a soft glow onto your face) – then you will look really good!

How much effort are we willing to make to look good for our Heavenly Father?  Do we care if He is pleased?  Does it matter if He sees us in a flattering light?  Will we put more effort into looking good on Skype than we do in being godly?

Is anyone else saying OUCH… ???

We do tend to spend a lot of time on the external, don’t we?  If Christians (I’m pointing to myself too) would spend half the time working on the internal, how great would that be?  That’s why daily devotionals and Bible study classes are so important.  We need to have that head knowledge of God’s Word to make us wise.  We need to have that heart knowledge of God’s Word to make us strong.

Let’s have the proper lighting on board as we walk in God’s Way…  God Himself.  Before you step out into the world today, don’t forget to pray.  Ask the Lord to light your way and point you in the right direction.  Ask Him to keep you safe from harm and hold you closely.  He will honor that heart-felt prayer and protect you along life’s way.  Why?  Because He loves you, silly!  🙂

1 JOHN 3:22 ON 3/22

1 JOHN 3 22 ON 3 22

…and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.  – 1 John 3:22

You’ve heard the definition of insanity, right?  Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome.  Take a look at this verse.  First we are assured of the outcome, the effect – whatever we ask we receive from him.  Hey, we all like that part, don’t we?  But wait, there’s a condition attached as we read on – a cause – because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.  OH…  well, in that case…

It’s cause and effect.  You can’t ignore the cause and expect to receive the effect.  It just does not work that way.  Throughout Scripture it’s clear that we are expected to hold up our end of the bargain, so to speak.  Now I’m not saying that good works save you – it is only through the shed blood of Jesus that your sins are forgiven and your eternal salvation takes place.  We keep commandments and do what pleases God because we love Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Is pleasing Christ a priority in your life?  If He means everything to you, He deserves to be a priority.

I once interviewed a woman named Theresa Daytner, who owns a construction company and has six kids, including twins.  she told me that she never tells herself, “I don’t have time.”  Instead she says, “It’s not a priority.”  I could say I don’t have time to make handmade valentines for all my children’s classmates, but if you offered me $100,000, I’d do it quickly.  Since that’s not going to happen, I can acknowledge that this is a matter of priority, not time.  – Laura Vanderkam

We take the time to care for the ones we love.  We make them a priority.  Do you want to receive blessings from God?  You know what to do.  I know sometimes other activities get in the way of me having a great devotional time or prayer time.  Stuff just happens – it happens to all of us.  We can all do better.  Today is the first day to make Christ our number one priority because He has obviously made us His number one priority, right?  🙂
