A COMMENTARY FROM THE HEART

It is always His will for me to seek His will.  – Charles F. Stanley

A pentimento (plural pentimenti) is an alteration in a painting, evidenced by traces of previous work, showing that the artist has changed his or her mind as to the composition during the process of painting. The word is Italian for repentance, from the verb pentirsi, meaning to repent.  ❤

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.  – Proverbs 3:6

Our lives are a canvas, and we paint each and every day.  We read our Bibles, pray, and paint.  The colors and textures vary, but there are times when we have to stop, repent, and let God start painting over everything on our canvas with brand new, bright, vibrant colors. ❤

Have you sought God’s will for your life?  When we allow God to be the Artist, it changes how your painting will look.  ❤

I’m absolutely hooked on making memes – designs – for my groups and pages on facebook and for this blog.  While that certainly does not take the same kind of talent as painting, some of the concepts can be applied.  Pentimento is common in my designing.  If I want to pop in a different photograph or if I need to correct a mistake (oh, surely that never happens – HA!), I just open the current work in my program and select the elements I want to use – then cover up the old elements with new ones – then voila’ – I have a brand new design.  ❤

Such is life – we make changes along the way – we tweak things here and there…  things such as losing weight to improve health, or changing hair color for whatever reason; however, as we seek God’s will for our lives, there are times when we have to do more than tweak.  We have to allow God to make significant changes.  God’s brush covers everything we need covered with His precious blood.  That’s the ultimate pentimento.  ❤

GENESIS 6:14 ON 6/14

TL 6-14 GENESIS 6-14 ON 6-14

So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.  – Genesis 6:14

Just as God told Noah to build an ark to prepare for the coming flood, God wants families who belong to Him to stay in His Ark of Salvation and Safety.13346679_1768103460100783_573288816226553365_nThis verse is an outline of how God wanted the ark built.  It was not Noah’s plan or design, it was God’s.  Noah followed His directions to the letter.  Do we follow God’s plan or design to the letter to build our Ark of Salvation and Safety?  Do we add to or subtract from God’s plan of salvation?  God sent His only Son, Jesus, to sacrifice His life on the cross at Calvary.  He is our way to eternal life in Heaven.  He is our Ark of Salvation and Safety.  Those not in the Ark of Salvation and Safety are not safe from God’s wrath.

Notice that before the flood, God had allowed fallen men to go on in evil and sin.  We’re in the last days, and once again, God is allowing fallen men to go on in evil and sin.  It doesn’t mean He doesn’t care – quite the opposite.  God gave every one of us a free will to choose to follow Him or not.  He didn’t create us to be robots.  He wants us to love Him.

Just as Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, there will be a remnant who remain faithful and true to the Lord.

Noah’s ark was built of durable gopher (cypress) wood.  It had rooms in it for the animals and the people.  It was coated with pitch inside and out.

Christ is our Ark of Salvation and Safety.  We are saved from eternal separation from God and safe from the wrath of God.  I’ve always been a pre-tribulation believer and pray that we don’t see all of the last days – the tribulation will be horrific, and while I know God is faithful to see us through anything, I really hope and pray that we get to leave before it gets so awful.  I don’t know.  I’ve heard both sides of the argument, and I plea ignorance – I just don’t know.  I trust that I’ll go to Heaven when God’s ready for me.  How’s that for an answer?

The ark that Noah built was divine provision from God.  The ark that every person builds for themselves and their family is also divine provision from God.  God purposed in His heart to redeem His creation to Himself.  Will you accept Jesus Christ into your heart and life today and begin building an ark for yourself and your family?  Today is the day of salvation.  🙂

I AM DYSLEXIC… HEAR ME SCREAM

TL I AM DYSLEXICI was recently made aware of yet another trick my eyes play on me…  yeah – I really needed to add to that list.  My eyes apparently see small g’s and small q’s the same way.  Sound weird?  Oh – not to me!

I was supposed to type PLAGUE, as in the plagues of Egypt – but typed PLAQUE, which, unless I’m mistaken, is something people get on their teeth OR an inscribed commemorative tablet, usually of metal placed on a building, monument, or the like.

UGH…

Dyslexia makes writing a real challenge, but it seems like I keep finding new twists and turns.  To be perfectly honest, I’m thankful somebody caught it and told me, but I had no idea my brain was this bad.  I try to be careful, I really try.  If you are dyslexic and get where I’m coming from, it’d be great to hear from you.  I knew I had some issues, but this is a brand new one.  Getting q’s and g’s mixed up…  huh.  Great…  just great.13102822_982147601892571_6280506427244160185_n

Why does God impress upon me to write when it’s such a challenge?  Maybe it’s His way of keeping me dependent upon Him.  When things come easily, we tend to think we’re doing them in our own strength.  It’s just a theory…  but dyslexia is the most frustrating condition to deal with.DYSLEXIA

I’ll scream…  and cry…  but I’ll probably get up tomorrow and write again.  I have to believe that God’s got His reasons for everything.  I don’t know why I see things differently than others do.  If I had the power to change it, I would.  I’ve done the best job I can do and leave the rest to the Lord – so please forgive my errors because I’m so very human.  🙂
