WIND

Back then, Topeka got to know the wind a little too well.  Here in Kansas we hardly notice it because it is so commonplace. The wind. We just wear our pony tails to keep our hair from blowing in our faces and go on. There was a mighty wind in God’s Word, the Bible – in the book of Acts. Now that was a wind that would not be ignored – could not be ignored!

Part of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) is the comforter that Jesus left with us when he ascended into heaven. The Holy Spirit is God’s power, discernment, wisdom and the strength we gain as believers. In Galatians there is a passage that talks about what the “fruits” of the Holy Spirit are:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23

Later in verse 25 we are reminded to not only live in the Spirit but to walk in the Spirit. We are to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. What a concept.

As we go on to Chapter 6 we are told to restore one who has fallen with a spirit of meekness so we don’t go down with them. We are to bear one another’s burdens and have a humble spirit. We learn that God is not mocked. Whatsoever we sow, we will also reap:

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. – Galatians 6:8

We are admonished to continue doing good and reminded that we will reap in due season if we “faint not” – we are to do good to fellow believers in particular.

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. – Galatians 6:14

Welcome Holy Spirit! ❤

HE WANTS TO HELP

The moments when I am able to just be still and know that God is God are the most precious times I know. I know people are busy and it’s a busy world, but if you can just leave the busy behind and shut yourself off for just a few minutes every day. Be alone with your Creator and let Him speak PEACE over you. What a difference that would make!

I know there are some who don’t believe it. Find out for yourself. Don’t ride on my cloud – get your own. Spend some alone time with God. Pray and read God’s Word. This life is not difficult, but there’s a temptation to “skip” devotion time which is not good.

It’s interesting that God gets no credit for anything good that happens, but then when something bad happens He is suddenly the scapegoat and the one who is automatically blamed. People who have a close personal relationship with God know better than to go there. God does allow some things, granted, but He allows the good all around us every day and it’s taken for granted.

God wants the very best for His precious children. He does not desire that any should perish but that all come to a saving knowledge of Him. He loves and cares for you so much.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  – John 14:27

There’s not enough money in the world to buy the PEACE that God gives. There are not enough medications to mimic the PEACE that God gives.

There are 4 easy steps to live in God’s PEACE:

Pray… ask… receive… bask!

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.  – Exodus 14:14

The LORD will fight for me! BOOM! 🙂
