Well, if you need a reason to get out of bed today – do I have a great one for you! Today is COOK SOMETHING BOLD & PUNGENT DAY!!!
I would also call this HAVE AN ANTACID READY DAY! To be honest, my stomach is not as strong as it used to be.
When I think of the word BOLD, I’m reminded of the book of Acts in God’s Holy Word, The Bible.
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. – Acts 4:31
As you celebrate this special day, I invite you to take another look at the book of Acts. Once God’s Holy Spirit is in your heart and life, you cannot help but speak the Word of God with boldness. The last days are near, I believe, and this passage is especially true:
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. – Acts 2:17-21
The word pungent carries a negative connotation under normal circumstances – it indicates that something is almost too strong. But listen to this definition I found:
Pungent: having a strong effect on the mind because of being clever and direct.
Ah… so I think it would be a good idea to not only speak with boldness, but have a strong effect on the mind of others by being clever and direct – be pungent as well!
Here’s an idea – find that perfect recipe and cook something bold & pungent. Invite some like-minded people over for dinner to help you enjoy and appreciate this special day. Also invite some folks who are not Christians yet – and share not only a great dinner (antacid for dessert), but your faith with them. Just some bold & pungent food for thought!
Be bold & pungent. 🙂
