PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD

TL 12-1 PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORDToday we are to pray for joy to share with others, peace in our hearts and to thank God for His amazing grace.TEN DAYS FORE CHRISTMASJoy and happiness are often used to mean the same thing, but happiness is dependent on conditions.  God’s joy is a constant that sustains us no matter what the circumstance or issue.

TRUST LIKE MARYMay God grant us joy to share with others – share with them that Christ was born in Bethlehem and He is the reason for the season!  What song comes to mind?  Hmm…  how about this one –

https://youtu.be/5XTO4WiP8Bw

Lord,

We pray that You will instill Your joy, that does not depend upon circumstance, in our hearts – that we may share with others – share You, and Your love, grace, mercy and abiding peace and joy.  Thank You, Lord for hearing our prayer.  Thank You for providing a way for us to have everlasting life in heaven with You.  Thank You for forgiving our sins.  Thank You for forgetting our transgressions and giving us another chance – time and time again.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Joy to share with others – and bow before the Christ Child.  https://youtu.be/bqjzpWYFJfc

Before the birth of Christ, there was nothing to bridge the gap between God and man.  Have you ever wondered why we pray IN JESUS’ NAME – ???  It’s because we pray to God – through Jesus.  Jesus is the reason we will be accepted into heaven with God.  When God looks at us, He sees Jesus.  We have an indelible mark on us once we belong to God through Jesus.

With joy we share with others!  https://youtu.be/1ty4u0-rBN4

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT

May God bless you with an extra shot of joy this Christmas season…  to share with others!  🙂

PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD

TL 12-1 PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD

Today I wonder what your favorite Bible verse is.  Is it a verse that has helped you through hard times?  Is it a verse that has given you strength of character at times?  Is it a verse that has humbled your heart before God?

It seems like when the word witness is said, we automatically freeze up.  We forget how to carry on a conversation because we’re so worried about how to witness.  The thing is, witnessing is just a matter of living the life Christ wants you to live – in front of the world.  People see your beliefs and how what you believe helps you through the rough spots in life.  It’s our hope that they will want to know more about this God you serve.  That’s the true witness to the world.  Words don’t really mean anything if actions don’t jive with them.

TEN DAYS FORE CHRISTMASOn this eleventh day ‘fore Christmas, I want you to share your favorite Bible verse with someone.  You don’t have to say it – it can be written in a Christmas card or shared on facebook.  You can send it in the form of an email.  You never know what your verse could do to help someone’s situation.

ALL OF HEAVEN

What is my favorite Bible verse?  Well, I thought you’d never ask!

Jeremiah-33.3_6-300x216Jeremiah 33:3 is a verse that has given me a great deal of comfort through the years.  I’ve learned that I can call on God in Jesus’ Name anytime, anywhere for any reason.  There’s never anything too small or insignificant to talk over with Him.  There’s never a problem or issue that He is not interested in or unable to work out for me.  He loves me and wants to be involved in all the problem-solving in my life.  The second part of the verse is the best part – if I will call on Him – He will answer – but He won’t just answer – no – He will also show me great and mighty things that I don’t know anything about – and that, my friends – is WISDOM.  I can’t explain it – but the way He answers and works things out – is so much better than anything I would have thought of on my own!  I’ve always been glad that I took the time to pray!  Wink!  😉

THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving Vector Illustration

I asked my group, A Second Helping of Wellness…  with a Dash of Humor & a Pinch of Faith, to help me think of things they are thankful for.  This is what we came up with – enough to cover the entire page!

There are more things we thank God for, of course.  Even when our circumstances look so lonely and sad from outward appearances, we can still look up to God and thank Him for LIFE.  If we are breathing, we absolutely need to be grateful for that gift.

GIVE THANKS (2)

I thought it would be nice to share some cherished verses about thankfulness.  Some are very familiar, but a few may not be ones you would choose.  In any case, please take this opportunity to read them and meditate on them today.  🙂

What is your favorite Bible verse having to do with Thanksgiving?  Let me know in the comments below.

For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God…all Israel gave the portions for the singers and the gatekeepers, a portion for each day. They also consecrated holy things for the Levites, and the Levites consecrated them for the children of Aaron.  – Nehemiah 12:46-47

O Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, And a great King above all gods, In whose hand are the depths of the earth; The peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.  – Psalm 95:1-6

Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!  – 1 Chronicles 16:8

Here’s a verse I pray we all commit to memory and hold on to when we don’t think there is anything to be thankful for.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.  – James 1:17

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.  – Psalm 31:19

There are a ton of verses I could share, but I think I smell some good fixin’s cookin’ in the kitchen.  It’s almost time to eat, I think!

We like pumpkin and sweet tater pies at our house.  What kind of pies are you eating today?  Post the answer in the comments below.  🙂

I saw something interesting on facebook yesterday as I was scrolling through the newsfeed.  So many recipes call for heavy cream, and most of us don’t keep it on hand.  Instead of making a special trip to the store, try this:
